The Bioinformatics Core Facility (BCF) provides computing resources, support, and training for researchers in the Department of Biomedical Research and the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children. The BCF offers the specialized tools and knowledge required for cutting edge research at the convergence of information technology and the life sciences.

Presently, the BCF plays an indirect role in patient care, by assisting researchers who are working to find underlying mechanisms and causes of human disease. That research may lead to new methods of treatment and diagnosis that will impact patient care.
