The members of the Administrative Core staff are first line in the day-to-day operations of the Center for Pediatric Research and are central to activities the Center, providing critical infrastructure for virtually all Center activities. The Administrative Core provides organization and oversight of the mentoring program, coordination and execution of the annual retreat, research seminars and symposia as well as organization of monthly staff meetings, research meetings, fiscal reporting and preparation of the annual progress report for the NIH. Other activities of the Administrative Core include recruitment of new faculty to the Center for Pediatric Research, development of the plans for the renovations to the Nemours Life Science Center and oversight of the project. The Director and Co-Director interface directly with the Internal and External Advisory Committees, and are responsible for coordinating with these groups to optimize the Center¢s role within the institution as well as to advance the Center's progress as a newly developed academic unit designed to train new investigators in Translational Research. In addition, the Director of the Center of Pediatric Research is an active member of the Delaware network of COBRE/INBRE principal investigators, which is important in coordinating activities of IDeA supported research programs, such as the Center for Pediatric Research.
